I am posting this b/c I have now had multiple bad experiences at two of The Smoothie Kings in Knoxville and I am fed up and I want everybody to know the truth about this place and it's owner and management.
The first thing that happened to me was I ordered a smoothie with no bananas because I am allergic to them. I asked them to sanitize a blender for me as well. Well, the person that was taking my order acted like this was a hassle and like it irritated him. I overlooked it thinking maybe he's just having a bad day. Well, when I got my smoothie I pulled off and started drinking it and about 15 minutes later broke out into an allergic reaction while driving!!!!! Luckily I had medicine with me, so I stopped and took it and waited it out until it started working. Once it started working, I opened up my smoothie to see if I could see any bits of banana in it or if I could smell it and do you know what I found in it? Multiple little pieces of something that appeared to be mold but I'm not 100 percent sure exactly what it was.
So, after all of this mentioned above, I went to The Smoothie King that I just purchased this "thing" at and asked to speak to the manager. Well, low and behold, the same guy who acted like it was a hassle to sanitize my blender came and said he was the manager. His name was Jeff and Jeff started pouring out excuses as to how it couldn't have been a banana and this and that. I've been tested for what I'm allergic to and bananas are the only food allergy that I have. While I was speaking to Jeff, I almost 100 percent positive I smelled beer on Jeff's breath. With this in mind, I decided to ask if his boss was here, he said the owner was there so I asked to speak to him. The owner came out, glossy eyed and red faced and also made excuses defending Jeff. Let me just say this too, the owner, he smelled of beer as well. Finally, realizing that this was not going to get resolved by these two, I just left.
I have never, in my whole life been in a service industry establishment and witnessed such a lack of will to make sure that a customer is completely satisfied.
