Knoxville's Burger Specials

Some of the best burgers in town can be had cheap! Here's our guide to where and when to find them.

There are some folks in the world who say that you can know a great kitchen by the quality of its roast chicken, but that's for the birds. The real test of the smart chef in these parts is how well she can flip, dress, and sling the burger from her grill to our table. It's a smart way to get folks in the door, and, borrowing some words from Ben Franklin, a good burger proves that the kitchen loves us and wants us to be happy.

In the quest to prove their love for us and our dining dollars, many chefs have followed the lead of celebrity restaurateurs like Daniel Boulud, whose db Burger (at NYC's Bistro Moderne) is filled with braised short ribs, foie gras, and black truffles. Although you probably won't find that wallet-depleting proposition around this town, you can enjoy gourmet quality in the Orangery's American Kobe Beef burger or treat yourself with a beautifully dressed Black and Bleu burger at Naples.

In fact, it's pretty easy to track down a great burger in this town, and some of the best are offered at great prices on designated burger days. It's a great way to indulge your gourmet longings without dipping into the rainy-day fund.
