Appalachian reggae party-rock. Luke9 and the Rude Boys assembled their posse of nefarious small-town East Tennessee boys during a stint at the University of Tennessee in 2005; with influences as diverse as Jimmy Cliff and Wilco, the Allman Brothers and Rancid, Sublime and Loudon Wainwright III, the Rude Boys blend alt-country, funk, punk, reggae, and blues into a puree of socially conscious lyrics, upbeat instrumentation, alternative song structure and crazy time signatures.
