John T. Baker has quietly evolved into one of Knoxville’s most innovative and accomplished bedroom pop artists. It’s not a big field, but that shouldn’t take away from the Econopop and French Broads frontman’s increasingly ambitious recordings. His latest album, Rainbrella, depends on contributions from a handful of local musicians—Ed Richardson, Eric Nowinski, Will Leggett, and Doug Campbell—and an iPod’s worth of samples, but it’s the product of a singular vision.
